Torah Laws Relating to the Occult, from the Shulkhan Arukh, Yoreh Deah, 179
Lesson 1
What is the occult? What is the dark side? Is there a real devil out there, empowered to steal your soul and cast you into hell? Is there a real world-wide conspiracy theory? These are the questions discussed in this first lesson in this important series.
We begin with an explanation of understanding both Jewish Law in general, and the general Biblical/Torah view of evil, and the devil in particular.
We address the issue of the prohibition against fortune-telling and why in a quantum universe, such behaviors contradict natural law. We discuss clairvoyance and when it can properly be trusted, as with healing, as opposed to predicting the future.
Mention is made here of Edgar Cayce, and whether or not it is permitted, by Torah Law, to seek psychic/clairvoyant help to diagnose and treat illness.
We strongly condemn superstition, but at the same time, see that such beliefs are alive and well in Judaism. We discuss astrology and how it can be used to understand human personalities, but never used for fortune-telling. We also reference the use of the Tarot and its psychological, archetypal usage as outlined by Dr. Carl Jung.

Lesson 2
Why Jewish Law codes follow the outlines that they do. Linear verses cyclical consciousness. The difference between superstition and real clairvoyance. The enslavement mentality that is the foundation of superstitions and what one can do to overcome it.
Auspicious signs, psychically and psychologically, and why, in a quantum reality, such beliefs limit human choice, and thus thwart the very Will of God and plan of Torah.
Biocentrism. How the human mind can link with the collective consciousness of the planet, and even with animals. It was said that King Solomon would “talk to the animals,” how this was actually a telepathic form of communication, and how actually it can be done.
The limits of what influences we are meant to project using the latent powers within us.

Lesson 3
This lesson address the topic of energy healing. What is energy? What is healing? Nefesh, chi and orgone, and the differences between healing that is psychological (spiritual) and that which is biological (physiological).
Energy healers, who are real and who are fakes. Fake kabbalists who charge large amounts of money catering to people's superstitions and fears.
Qi-gong, Rei-Ki, martial arts and acupuncture, what is kosher, what is not kosher, and why.
The prohibition of cheapening the Torah by using it as an instrument of healing instead of embracing it in pure faith. The protective usage of Torah and its commandments.
Also, incantations and amulets over wounds, creation of sacred domains, including “magic circles,” and mental contact with animals, how it works, when it is permissible.

Lesson 4
Talking to the dead, ghosts, seances and ouija boards. This classes discusses the nature of the soul and the realities of dual consciousness. The difference between nefesh consciousness and neshama consciousness. What the dead see and know. Talking to the dead is something that everyone does, it is when they talk back that we need monitoring.
There are many spirits, there are earth-bound souls and other natural entities that are indigenous to our Earth. All seek contact with human hosts for each their own reasons. In common, they may contact humans either directly or through mediums and relate information and falsehoods with the intent to tap into the individual's life-force energy, and to siphon it off.
Seances can and do work, but are dangerous without proper understanding of the nature of the experience. This same is true of ouija boards. The dead pass on and need to continue to walk their path. Sometimes they look down on us and pray for us. Sometimes we feel their presence. This class discusses all these things.

Lesson 5
The laws of mind control manipulating the minds of others, and even physical object themselves. Can lead be turned into gold? Can the weak mind be bent to the will of the strong?
What are demons? Are there really good ones? Can they be contacted, and if so, for what purposes? What is forbidden about them, and what is allowed? King Solomon and Ashmedai, King of the Demons. Why the occult can be dangerous and why we need to be cautious and stay away.
